Mike:

I had an oil cooler on my TD with and without the oil cooler
thermostat.  I also have a oil temperature gauge in the sump.  I
can never recall the oil temperature in the sump ever reaching
60C and most of the time never over 50C.  Ergo, the cooler and
the plumbing have now been removed.

P.S. This engine is a stage IIA and the car has seen 95 MPH with
the headers on using a 4.875 rear end.  The car has been run
1000's of miles at 70+ mph and in temps up to 103F.
