Just got back from the MG/British autojumble in Pasadena, CA and along with
meeting up with a bunch of old Britiron Buddies from both Northern and
Southern California, I found quite a deal on an 1949 Austin A40 pickup.
It has a stock 1200 BMC B series engine and a floor shifter (rather than
the dreaded reverse pattern, four-on-the-column gear grinder found in most
A40s). Owned bu a guy called Cliff, this little two-tone brown beauty is
going for (or at least is being offered at) $5,000/offer. No rust, no
damage and ready to hold up the traffic on your favourite street!
The 16" wide whitewall tyres look like they were lifted right off of Al
Capone's Lincoln limo. This is a really cool car for the right guy.
