Hi Mike,
  Several causes are possible, individually or combined. These are some I
think of:
   Loose spring mounts
   Loose rear dampers
   Slack in clutch linkage-worn bushings
   Oily clutch
   Loose engine mounts or steady bar.
   Loose/broken rear transmission mount bolt
   Sheer perversity of the beast.
