Frank-

Take it from me that no matter what material the gasket is, if you don't
replace the studs and nuts it will still blow out.  When I was blowing
gaskets, I tried a bunch of different materials to no avail.  Only when I
removed the old studs, chased the threads, and used all new hardware did the
problem go away.  So while you're in there, do all of that.
