I'm down to the last thing to fix on my car before it's running again, which is
replacing the front left brake pipe. I purchased the copper-nickel set, and
while I was bending the pipe, I found that it was about 3" shorter than my
original pipe and there wasn't enough pipe to make the last turn. Does anyone
know how long the pipe should be? My original is about 38", and the
replacement is about 35". I checked the label twice to make sure if was the
right pipe, and assuming I know what left means (the driver's side on a USA
model), it should be correct. I installed it just so I can see if the brakes
now work, but I want to know if this is the right length or not. It doesn't
hug the inner fender the way the old one did, and it isn't fastened anywhere
other than at the ends.

I'm off to bleed the brakes and see if it works. I think I still need to
replace the head gasket, but not tonight.
