Ok, let's get a summation here. Please chime in if anything is inaccurate,
or you have additional info.

Lawrie has 185/65 15" tires on the TR6 72 spoke 5.5" wheels.

minor rubbing, with no fender modifications.

Bill has 185/70 15" tires on the TR6 72 spoke 5.5" wheels with no problem,
no fender modifications.

James has 185/65 15" tires on the original MGC 5" wheels with no problem, no
fender modifications.

I ran 195/60 15" tires on knockoff Minilites (pretty much the same as the
TR6 wheel offset) and ran into some rubbing on hard cornering.

So far, it looks like the 185/65 15 on a TR6 5.5" wheel is going to be the
winner in the mondo rubber competition.

I set up a spreadsheet on tire diameters, cos I've got to make some
decisions, and using the Tire Rack computer got tiresome.

                175/70 14 600.6mm
(note 185/70 will fit, but handling may suffer)

Best wider alternate 14" on 5.5" wide wheel

                185/65 14 596.1
                185/70 14 614.6 (stock on Limited Edition)
                195/65 14 609.1 (may rub at rear)

+1 Tire options

                185/65 15 621.5
                195/60 15 615 (may rub at rear)

Please chime in with comments. I'd like to be able to give accurate
recomendations when the question comes up.

Kelvin.
