Having worked very little on Solex's perhaps my comment's
might not be correct. But we should remember that the early
versions of the Solex aren't really much different than the
SU, except for the sealed suction chamber. The later Solex
has lots of extra dodads to make them comply with emission
standards. The Solex was probably more stable in that it
doesn't have the 'calibrated' air leak between the suction
piston and it's chamber and that's why it was fitted to
later MGB's.
