Basically your ignition low-tension circuit is breaking down. One cause is
the flexible ground wire inside the distributor having broken. When you
change the position of the accelerator the vacuum changes and this twists
the points plate inside the distributor, the ground wire maintains the
primary ignition circuit. If this is broken the sliding contact between the
points plate and distributor body can break intermittently causing the
missfire and tach oscillation. The problem can also be caused by the wire
from the points to the coil having a broken conductor inside the insulation
as this also flexes when the points plate moves.
