Except for about one year during college, I have had at least one
british car since about this time of year in 1978. Over that time
period I've amassed a fair number of "handy spare
parts". Unfortunately, some of them, like the set of hepolite rings,
would only be handy if I were to have a 1200cc Cortina or a 997cc
Prefect. I'm slowly coming to the realization that if I had fewer
spare parts for cars that I don't have, or fewer duplicate spare parts
for the cars that I do have, I'd probably save money because I'd be
able to find the parts I need, rather than having to go out and buy
them, again, and again, and again...

If I were to own a britcar repair shop, I might actually have use for
six sets of SU carburettors, or parts for eight lucas distributors. Or
I might need a part from that tranny with the blown overdrive to fix
something else.

Sometime in the near future, I'm going to need to go through my piles,
and boxes of rare and exotic car parts and sort them into those that
are useful to me, not useful to me, but useful to someone else, and
trash. If driving up to the Santa Cruz Mountains to rummage through
someone elses parts shed is your idea of a fun time, especially if it
means that you might get first crack at a good deal on some parts, let
me know. I won't be doing this until the weather clears up, because I
want to be able to sort the parts out outside, but my schedule is
hectic enough, that I probably ought to start planning now.

I've found something worse than oldies station that play the music I used to
listen to. Oldies stations that play the "new" music I used to complain about.
