Other than by observing a hypoid drip at the axle seal, how can I tell if
an axle breather for a late model MGB is blocked? It is a plastic tube
with plastic cap which fits in a hole on the top right side of the axle
near the differential. Does this tube screw in? Is it a press
fit? or?????? The snap in cap does not seem to have a hole that might be
plugged.

Haynes and Bentley are silent on the subject and a Google search turned up
nothing of assistance

Inquiring minds need to know before moving the next logical step of
changing an axle seal ...

Thanks for your help

Preston
