Squeeeeealing Brakes

Anyone with an MGC (or TR-6) had problems with squealing brakes and found a 
cure? The usual shims and goo for the back of the pads doesn't seem to do 
anything on SWMBOs MGC.

I suppose I can always give the rotors a light skim, buy new pads and start 
again.....
