Hi Listers: A sincere thank you to the many who replied concerning the use of 
sealer with new gaskets.
I did not count, but most of us use the stuff except on heads and exhaust.

Right now I have only used Permatex ( I want to find Halomar(?) and the 
others mentioned).

I have sealed the water pump, and that will be the first place I look for a 
leak.
