Remember when Japanese motorcycles (1961-1970) came with that "smelly" FISH
OIL instead of petroleum based lubricants in the shocks (and in other places)
that you had to drain & replace with the oil that was specified in the build
specs. that came along with the manual and other paperwork inside the crates
that the new Hondas, Yamahas, Kawasakis & Suzukis arrived here to satisfy a new
demographic need created by a trendy ad campaign initiated by S. Honda's " You
meet the nicest people on a Honda..." But due to a need to import nearly 100%
of all materials needed to build and fill these new Motorcycles, the less
costly Fish Oil was used instead of the petroleum based oils that had to be
bought
and brought into the Land of the Rising Sun..Oh, yeah it smelled B-A-D, too!
Man, am I really that old? (Yep!)
