Hi List: Many thanks to all who helped me "plug" all of the vacuum holes so 
the beauty would start.
I adjusted as per Paul, taped over vac connections and it started without a 
cough and even idled decently. (Just a little lope, but did not cough when I 
accelerated.)

Thanks to all again for the great help.

Seats or not, I am driving the baby around the block Saturday !
