It is a trick I picked up at the shop I used to work at.  I have never used
it on a stock Midget, but I used it once on a 3/4 race bugeye that I built
with a 5 speed in it.  In my case the bleed screw ended up below the fitting
for the line, and so it couldn't be bled conventionally.
