In what way doesn't it work?  If it works sometimes and not others it is
unlikely to be bleeding but it could be a seal intermittently failing.  If
this were in the slave you would be using fluid, possibly not if it is the
MC.  If it does it often enough you can securely support the car on axle
stands and get underneath and measure the movement of the slave piston while
someone else repeatedly pumps the pedal, it should move 1/2" to 5/8".  If
you can see that sometimes it moves less than others it is a hydraulic
problem as described above.  If it moves the required distance every time
and you would have expected to have had the problem several times when
driving it, then the implication is that it is a mechanical problem inside
the bell-housing.  My V8 suffers from a dragging clutch and grinding when
going into reverse if I don't drive it enough.  If it *is* new it could be a
problem with the part or the installation.
