David, it is not uncommon to have to put some sealant into the corners of
the glass seals. In your case the leak sounds more like it is coming from
the pedal box. If the glass were leaking it would normally fall onto your
thigh. The best way to find the leak is to look into the car while you have
someone pour a bucket of water over the front of the car. If it is the
pedal box that is leaking then it would be the bonnet to body seals or the
pedal box seals.

Subject: a wet ride

Its been cold and rainy this week even though we are still in a serious
drought here in Montana. Usually I drive the 72B when its dry out and
today, with a 0% chance of rain and highs to be in the low 70s, I was
looking forward to another top down cruise. But I get up this morning and
there is a slight sprinkle. I figure it can't be too bad so I drove the 72B
to work with plans to lower the top at noon. Well the rain came down pretty
good and the wipers worked great. But there was a leak, only one, that put
a fair drizzle of water on my left leg. Particular whenever I made a turn,
I would get a shot of water (a small stream, not a drip) on the left leg
just below the knee. Otherwise, the car stayed quite dry inside.

Now its starting to clear outside. I'm still not sure where the actual leak
is but somewhere behind the dash where it will be hard to see. Any one have
a similar leak or experience? My first guess would be the seal between
windshield and body near the driver's end (LHD), even though its a new
seal. But I don't want to do like the DPO - the car was from Kansas and the
owner had run some clear sealant around about every seal on the car. All
that old sealant has been removed since I had the car totally stripped and
repainted but it was literally everywhere.
