I beleive the cause is that when the last owner left it to sit for 15 years
they left the plus loose and the rings have corroded to the walls. I've let
these two sit in various lquids to try to release the corrosion but nothing
to date has worked. I don't have the expertise to do what most likely needs
to be done to get my engine running again so am going to let the pros do it.
I'm going to be pulling the engine out later this week and am looking for a
good place to take it.
