Mark, I sandbasted a set of 15" wires for my TR3 then primed 2 coats and painted them with 2 coats of Moss silver/ grey (220-560. I'm very happy with the results and they can be locally touched up if necessary...something I'm not sure I'd trust if they were powder coated.
