This is a tougher question than it appears. My 66 has the 4" chrome bullet
mounted just forward of the windscreen. This is an almost useless location
for this mirror -- it doesn't stick out far enough outboard, and is
partially obscured by the vent window and windshield frames. The chrome on
this mirror is also enormously susceptible to pitting (even in CA) -- I've
gone through 2 of them.
I finally bought one of the flat round chrome mirrors on a stalk, which I
was thinking of mounting on the door, since I sit well back in the cockpit.
But first I would need to patch up the largish hole in the wing occupied by
the bullet mirror.
