I had the pleasure of removing the oilpan three times this SPring while the
engine was still in the car. The secret is to loosen the motor mounts and
jack the engine up. Once the engine is slight lifted, a 1/4" u joint and
extension will make short work of them.
BTW - it goes much faster the second and third times.
