To the MG list:
I've just gotten a book for review that I wanted to share with the MG list.
Essential MG by Graham Robson -- available through Motorbooks.com and
Amazon.com for list $24.95. 160 pages, full color, 12in x 12in hardcover.
If you were to have only one basic reference book on your shelf covering all
the models of MG from 1924 to the present day, this book would fill the bill
neatly. After a brief history of the marque, the book provides four pages on
each model, with two pages of text and facts, and two pages of good photographs
showing the specific model and detail shots of distinctive features.
Knowing the depth of Mr. Robson's knowledge of British cars, his extensive
personal files, and his care at getting things right, I am confident that the
factual information presented in this book is as accurate and as complete as
historical research permits. With the models I am most familiar, I certainly
could find no flaws in his presentation. If you're new to the marque, this book
is
a great place to start your own library and if you're a real devotee of the
sacred Octagon, this book should be in your collection.
Cheers
Gary Anderson
