I am working on the 62 MGA coupe, recreating a missing piece, AFH6639 - the
bracket in the trunk that sits on top of the spare tire and holds it down - it
bolts to the vertical panel between the trunk and passenger compartment.
Here's the trivial question - what colour should it be, body colour or
black, like the spare hold-down bracket that the wing nut holds against the
front
of the tire. As a piece that is bolted to the body, I suspect it should be
body colour, but I figure there might be somebody out there with an original
car
that could say for sure. Not that I am restoring it to concours, and
certainly not that I am overly finicky about such things, but when it is just
as
easy to do it right as wrong, why not choose the right way?
