On a UK 73 the washer should be a manual pump - in the round hole in the
middle. Looks like the PO has installed an electric one and used a gash
switch. There was originally a blanking plate between the heater fan switch
and the washer plunger, for optional fog or spot lights on 72 and earlier
models.
