Thanks to all that replied to my earlier cam question. I have copied the
text below from the instructions that came with the cam which I ordered from
Brit-Tek. I was hoping to get to the bottom of which cam lube to use. Let
me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Steve C.

The intructions:

British Delta Cams Ltd

KC270
Power band: 1500 rpm- 6500 rpm
Instal timing: Stock indexing
Lash setting cold: .015 intake .015 exhaust
Lash setting hot: .013 intake .013 exhaust

Important note: Always use new lifters!

Installing your cam: Thoroughly clean your cam with an air-evaporative
solvent. Coat the cam lobes and lifter faces with lubricant designed for cam
break-in. Use engine assembly lubricant on the bearing journals (note: do
not use cam lube on the bearing journals as this specialized lubricant has
micro polishers in it to help the braking of the cam and lifter surfaces.)

Careful not to nick the bearing when installing your cam. Lubricate the
lifter bores with engine assembly lube (remember to lube the matting faces
with cam lube). Ensure that each lifter is smooth and free in its bore.

Break-in process: Use 10-30 oil for break-in. Prior to starting the car,
check to ensure you have fuel and spark. You want the engine to fire up with
a limited amount of cranking. Over cranking will clean off the cam lube.
Once the engine fires bring it up to 2000 rpm and you will be running the
engine above 2000 rpm for 20 minutes. It is recommended to do this
statically rather than driving the car. You may vary the revs between 2000
and 3000 rpm during this time.

During this process check for oil and water leaks and overheating. If any
problems arise shut the engine strait down - fix the problem and fire right
back up to 2000 rpm to complete the break-in process.

After 20 minutes, drain the oil and change oil filter. Refill with normally
recommended engine oil.
