For those with long memories, I've been struggling with brakes that show
symptoms of LOTS of air in the system for a while. Or rather, you all gave me
good advice weeks ago and I've only just found time to do anything about it.

After much ineffective faffing, twice removing and bench-bleeding the Master
Cylinder, no improvement. However, I did hear a click at the moment when the
brakes actually started working - getting my wife to press the pedal, I
identified the click as coming from the servo. Servo promoted to Prime
Suspect.  Note - this is the Lockheed REMOTE servo that was fitted as an
optional extra to cars with single-circuit brakes, not the one that's integral
with the M/C on later cars.

So, servo out (again - GOD it rips my arms to shreds reaching in between the
inner and outer wing to get at the nuts!). I removed the band holding the back
to the main body - but I can't seem to get any further. I can see the bolts
holding the cylinder assembly to the body, but I can't get at them because of
the big plastic disk with the rubber seal/bellows around it. There was a small
puddle of brake fluid in the body, which I assume is not a good thing??

So, how do I get this bugger apart? Haynes just tells me that special tools
are required and I should consult a specialist, and says no more. But I'd
rather fix it myself!

Should I just accept what Haynes says and buy a replacement (I think I've seen
them on eBay for #30-odd for a used, allegedly working, unit).
