This is interesting from MSNBC.  Their report says:

It would also in effect shift the venerable British sports car brand
MG from Chinese to US control, although production would still start
at its most recent home, Rover's former factory in Longbridge,
Birmingham, in the English Midlands.

Of course, moving MG to the US was one of the strategies
for survival that many championed in 1980 as a result of
the Pound Sterling's strength compared to the Dollar. 
That unfavorable exchange rate  is what kept MG out of
the US since Abingdon was shuttered.  This article makes
it sound more like MG will be primarily a US company with
Nanjing as a partner, not Nanjing building MGs themselves
in the US.  Hmmmmm...
