Any listers in or around the Portland, Oregon (NW USA) area?
I took my son there last week as he wants to relocate there. Its seems to be
the "in" city for a lot of the youth here in Montana. Since I had to haul a
trailer with my son's belongings, I drove the BBC (Big British car) instead of
my MGs. But I did see a red 69 MGB during a drive to Oceanside to see the
Pacific Oceam before I headed back inland to Montana. I talked to the owner
while he was getting petrol at an Oceanside gas station. He said he was having
clutch problems which he described along the lines of slippage going uphill in
third gear. It didn't sound like clutch to me but he said he was going to take
it to a shop in Portland that specialized in MGs. Anyone know of this shop?
The day after the Oceanside trip, I had to climb Mt. Hood (because it was
there), a dormant 11,000 foot volcano. My son reported two MGB sitings in
Portland while I was doing my climb.
So it looks like there is a fair bit of MGB activity in Portland. It looks
like if my son gets situated in Portland, I'll be heading over there
occassionally so if there are any Portland listers, perhaps they can let me
know more of what there is in the area. Its only about a 900 mile cruise from
here.
