I had this happen not too long ago and had to go to the list for help.  Over
time the latch that attaches to the dash gets pushed in.  As you start to
have problems you slam the lid to close it pushing it in more.  Eventually
it won't open and/or close.

Anyway, there's two screws that hold it in to the dash.  Adjusting is
easy...
