Hello list,
First, I hope it is not improper list etiquette to post things
like this. I've been on the list for 10+ years and tried to contribute where
I could. Mainly, I posted my car here to try to figure out what a fair price
is and with the hope that it would find a good home. I got a bit of feedback
so thanks, but I could use some more. Most folks thought I was a bit low on
my initial estimate. Based on questions I've had, I took some more pics and
posted them here:
Several questions about rust. I tried to take pics of the trouble spots. The
worst as far as I can tell is the driver side floor board. I should have
fixed that small spot when I saw it start 5 years ago. I think the rest of it
is "reversible", but please let me know what you think. A few other details
based on questions:

-I've never replaced the clutch. It seems good to me,
does not slip.
-I've never replaced the rockers or floor boards
pressure seems good, between 40-60PSI
-Working original clock!
-I've never
done anything to the suspension...actually, that's not I remember
fighting with the ball joints...have to go back in the records to see what I
-The wind shield has a crack in it (see pic).
-I have a new top that I
bought 5 years ago or so. It has never been out of the box.

(for now)

MGB...for sale...fair price?

Regrettably, I've come to the decision to
sell my 1977MGB. I post this to the list first to see if anyone is interested
before posting it other places. With 2 little kids, soccer games,
baseball, etc, it is impossible to keep up as several of you know. My
enjoyment out of owning the MG was tinkering with it on the weekends. I just
don't have time for it right now. Perhaps again in a few years.

I ask the
lists advice on a fair price. I was thinking somewhere around $2,500, but
please let me know what you think is fair.

I've owned the car since 1996. I
bought it in Texas for $1,900 and moved it to St. Louis Missouri in 1998 where
it resides today. I don't know the history of it before I bought it, but it
has been garaged the entire time I've owned it and driven mostly on the

It has never been restored and I think it is fairly close to
original, but I am not entirely sure. It has overdrive that works. I just
had a new fuel pump put in and a bunch of work done on the electrical system
to get it to pass safety inspection. Through the years, I've gone through
many things in the car such as:

-Fixed overdrive (lockout switch was all that
was wrong with it)
-Fuel pumps
-Rebuilt the carb (ZS)
-New exhaust
-Clutch master and slave
-Fixed a bunch of electrical
-And a bunch of other things I can't think of right now so I'll have to
get out my records

The engine was not rebuilt in the time that I had it.
I've put less than 10k miles on it

I also have a new top that I bought and
never installed which cost about $300.

I took a few pics and posted them

Please let me know what you think
a fair price is or if anyone on the list is interested in taking a look at it.
