Probably wont charge, and might fry the GPS.
You could make an adapter, with new plug and new socket, wired so new socket
has negative ground.

That's very cute, but the last time I saw a stationers was 20 years ago in

Jersey.  It was near the dime store.  What kind of time machine is your MG?

If you don't need GPS, you ain't driving it far enough!

Dumb question... Will GPS charge on a positive ground cigarette lighter?  I'm
three weeks away from driving my MG 1100 for the first time and its "positive
earth".
