Briggs and Stratton has a gas cap that fits directly on to the fuel tank with
a built in check valve. This cap has been tested and meets all of the SAE
requirements for 35.2.1 & 35.4.2 of the 2007 rules. I strongly recommend that
you use this cap this year, but in 2008 the plan is to require this cap.
Question: Does anyone make a manufactured gas cap with a check valve already
installed that fits the Briggs and Stratton fuel tank?
Answer: Briggs and Stratton does make a gas cap that meets rule 35.2.1 and
35.4.2, no modifications are necessary. The part # for this cap is B4325GS and
the retail price is $40.15, the direction is to require this cap for the 2008
competitions and strongly recommend the use for the 2007 competitions.
