Well Day eight is here and the Plus 4 is not finished . The tub, rear
fenders and doors are in primer and await blocking and color coat.
Why do we say we are painting a car? I mean there is very little
painting but lots and lots of sanding. Of all the tasks in refinishing
a car the painting is the shortest.
Since I return to work tomorrow, my plan is to attempt to spray the
color next weekend. I'll then start on the bonnet and front wings.
The door hinges are pretty worn so I 'm going to send off for a new set
as well as some replacement rubber bit.
Hopefully I'll have them about the time the car gets ready to go back
together and the heat breaks.
While I did not achieve my objective of having the car back on the road
within eight days, I fell pretty good about it since its at a point
where the nasty stuff is done and with a few more days work it can be
back on the road.
I want to thank all of you who sent words of encouragement. The
principle did work since there were several points when I considered
putting off any more work on the car but felt i would be letting my
cheering section down if i did.
I'll keep you all posted as to the finish up details ,
