bracket attached to the two bolts at the rear of the license plate
lamp(a large U-shaped bracket the width of the plate), and put the
license plate in a sacrificial frame (if it scrapes the ground, who
cares?)I have seem other answers-rear valences mounted on hinges,and
what my car originally had:two brackets that bolted to the rear (spare
tire) panel and made the plate stand up behind and above the
bumper.Looked awful, hence the change.Front plate-still wrestling with
this; my front bumper is drilled for plates, but attaching one
directly to bumper creates appearance of unseemly aerodynamic
device-it sticks out like a metal tongue.Need to fabricate mounting
collars to make it vertical (imagine the little beveled collars around
your windshield wiper posts,and you get the idea.)
