Will, Our 67 4/4 has the 1600 xflow engine. I got it equiped with the Weber DCD1 carb (as in competition models), but I was kind of nervous about no air cleaner (1/2" clearance). I just converted to a weber "32/36 DGV" carb which just fits WITH a K&N filter! (yes, I kept the DCD1). I am working on final tuning but the carb seems to be great! I also have the wooler shifter!
