Hi Chuck,
Every reference to +4's that have read indicates that the
"semi-automatic" oiling system was a feature of +4's right from the
beginning.  Ken Hill lists the oiling system on his description of +4
models on page 64 of "Completely Morgan Four Wheelers 1936 to 1968".

That's what I know.
