I am interested in purchasing a Morgan to be used in both driving and
competitive events, possibly vintage racing. I have owned a 1959 +4 for many
years but want a car that is more for go than show. My first choice is a 4/4
because it is different and I understand lighter. Many years ago I drove a
4/4 and it seemed to be more nimble. The most memorable thing though, was the
gearshift. I would like to start a discussion about what 4/4 is the better
one for competition. At this time I think I would like to stay with something
older than 1970. I understand there are many different Ford engines and
possibly the later cars had a more standard gearshift. I would appreciate any
information from the Morgan owners out there. Thanking everyone in advance.
