Bill,
You will have to uncouple the engine and the transmission.  There are 2 ways
of doing that: either pull the eng. or pull the xmission.  If you pull
xmission
only, then it has to come out through the cockpit.  
In reality, I think it would be easier to pull the engine and work on it
outside the car.
