I had to follow the link to the Ebay listing of the 1942 International
that was posted the other day. Boy, what a truck! Back in the forties, this
was just about as big as trucks got, and this could have been an
over-the-road truck just like in those great forties movies. A truck like
this typically would have had stake sides and a canvas roof. Can you imagine
it finished, shiny again, with some sort of snappy logo painted on the door
and a name like "Ed's Drayage" or "Mile-A-Minute Motor Freight?"
Howabout painting it dull ARMY OD, roughly stenciled with white stars and
U.S. ARMY? It IS a '42 after all. Gee, it sure sounds like a lot of fun if
you've got room for it.
