Probably the most compelling reason is originality or "period correctness.".
There's still some of us left out there.  Although not a purist by any
stretch of the imagination, I was careful in the restoration of my '50 to
use either original GM parts or period correct aftermarket parts such as
Fenton headers, etc.  I'm an Inliner and really like that old stuff.......

With all the new style filters and adapters to put on old
engines available today, why would anyone want this old
TP filter setup, which I believe was just a d--m good sales
gimmick for the times. I'll bet the "Inliner's" guys could
tell all of us of a new set-up they use, or Stovebolt Engine
Co. has a web page with modern updates. Sheeeeeesh!
