Hi John, I installed a new gas tank in my TF truck and had the same problem.
After new tank, filler hoses and sender I could smell fresh gas for days but
could not see it anywhere. It turned out to be the old gas line connecting
to the new sender/outlet was not tight enough. An extra 1/4 turn solved the
problem. I hope yours is that simple.
You did replace the filler hoses didn't you? They are a popular source of
aromas. Did you also replace the filler neck to body grommet? I had
problems with that one and other list members have given some good advice
involving a grommet from Chevy Duty and using dish soap and water in a spray
bottle. I haven't tried it yet but am anxious to get to it.
