    Mark,
 Yes you can convert a column shift to a floor shifter, but if you use that 
steering column with the column shift, you will still see the cover area 
where the shifter was. If you want your truck to "look" like it came with a 
floor shifter, then you need to find a steering column that came from a donor 
that had a floor shifter, (automatic or 3-4spd). The cover on those columns 
are different by not having the place to attach a shift handle on the column.
