One reason is they're built super heavy. Also, they run at lower rpm's. The
5.9 Cummins hits max torque at abt 1800 rpm, and usually don't run over abt
2500. Most car engines are designed to run faster to generate more
horsepower. In a truck engine, what is important is torque-lot's of it BK.
