The first thing you need is the tool to compress the upper part of the
column to remove that retainer clip around the steering shaft.  The
tool looks like a bracket in the shape of a "U" with a hole in the
center that fits over the column shaft.  Then their are (2) different
threaded collars for different threaded shaft sizes that look like
sockets that thread on to the shaft.  Then you tighten two 3/8 bolts
on each side of the "U" shaped bracket which pushes down on the
retainer bracket so you can remove the clip.  It's really not that big
of a deal.....takes maybe 10 minutes tops.  Now you have access to the
signal unit.
