Tom,

The correct engine color for both the 216 and the 235 in trucks are Gray.
Jim Carters, Chevy Duty and Brothers all have the correct color.  In a spray
can, you can use DupliColor Engine Enamel #DE116 New Ford Gray for a very
good match to the original gray used on Chevrolet truck engines from
1929-1962.

The various add-on equipment such as the generator, coil starter and such
are all painted black.  The Intake manifold should also be gray and the
exaust was originally left unpainted.
