        You can get some GFCI *outlets* that allow some daisy chaining.  This
        may solve your shared neutral problem and the half-size breakers.

Right. The code allows one to GFCI-protect a circuit by putting
a single GFCI outlet at the head end. This doesn't allow for
split duplex outlets (shared neutral between the two hot phases), though.

I'm still not sure how I'll do this - I'm checking out all the options
and will have to compare costs, too...
