I haven't seen those, but I have one that's even nicer. It's a machinsts dial
guage, (Center plunger type) with stand and adapters to mount on top of the
valve/rocker arm. You then move the rocker arm, and get a direct reading of
the lash, in thousandths of an inch. It works well, and will do some cars that
are hard to do with feelers due to parts interference or wear. You can even
see how much you are changing the setting, as you adjust it. You can also
measure if the gap changes as you move the rocker around a little, indicating
rocker bush or shaft wear.
It's also good for checking your feeler guage setting accuracy. On the other
hand, feeler guages are generally faster. I use it once in a while, usually to
check an unknown engine's status, or verify my feeler guage "feel".
Sorry, but I have no idea where you could buy one today- it's 50-60's
vintage, in a nice custom wood case. I got mine at a garage auction.
