It looks a lot like a Phillips screw. The shape of the grooves is
slightly different, to better hold the fastener to the driver.
(Remember, all these "advanced" fasteners were developed to speed
assembly line work. The holy grail is to put the screw on the driver
and have it not able to fall off.) The different groove shape means
that a Phillips driver doesn't fit well enough to deliver high torque
without completely buggering the fastener.

You can distinguish them on sight because the Pozi has an additional
"X" drawn on the face, concentric with the cross slots but 45 degrees off.
British car owners will find them on Stromberg carbs, among other places.
