Dear all,

Just thought I'd share a method I've used to refurbish some
door hinges for the Lynx. The type will be familiar to prewar owners as the
exposed plate type.
They were flapping about due to nearly 65 years of wear so I had them
plated after flattening them and line reamed them to remove ovality with a
small, adjustable, hand reamer. Then i turned pins to suit in Stainless
Steel and good as new. No play.

I plated them first because a good fit is necessary and chrome in the
holes would render the work useless.

Blessings be upon you and yours

                      JH
