I have an air compressor in an attached garage in Michigan where it has been
known to get cold. Generally, my garage doesn't get cold enough to freeze,
but one year it did and moisture in the valve at the top of the tank where
the air enters froze and it cracked the brass valve. So, I'd try to keep it
where it doesn't freeze to be on the safe side.
